1st Vendor Development Program

Faridabad, 20th October 2018: The Department of Industries and Commerce, Govt. of Haryana
organised State’s first Vendor Development Program for Auto-Auto Components and Light
Engineering Sector in Faridabad. The program was aimed to provide MSMEs with access to markets
in line with Public Procurement Policy of Government of India which envisages 20% procurement
of PSUs from MSMEs.
More than 90 Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) from Auto-Auto Components and Light
Engineering Sector participated in the event and interacted with the procurement officials of PSUs
– Power Grid Corporation of India, Diesel Loco Modernisation Works (DLMW) and National Small
Industries Corporation (NSIC). The Vendor Development Meet was supported by major Industries
Associations of Faridabad such as Faridabad IMT Industries Association, Faridabad Chamber of
Commerce & Industries, Laghu Udyog Bharti and I Am SME of India.
The program was graced with presence Shri. Ashok Sangwan IAS, Director – Industries &
Commerce, Government of Haryana, who highlighted various Ease of Doing Business Initiatives
currently undertaken by Govt. to help MSMEs. Shri. Anurag Arora, Chief Manager Quality of Power
Grid Corporation of India informed delegates about the current quality standards required by
vendors. Shri. Pankaj Pandey, DGM-Contracts of Power Grid detailed the requirements of Power
Grid from MSE vendors. Shri. Syed Md. Nomaan, Senior Manager – NSIC briefed on various
schemes of NSIC for benefitting MSMEs. A presentation on procurement and quality standard’s was
taken by Shri Baldev Singh, Manager, Diesel Loco Modernisation Works – Patiala. The knowledge
partner of Department of Industries & Commerce – EYLLP coordinated the entire program under
the Project “MSME Ecosystem Transformation in Haryana”.
